Things to remember when contacting your representatives:
1. Be respectful of the office if not the office holder. Profanity and threats of bodily harm will NOT get you anywhere except arrested. Chances are you will be talking to an assistant of an assistant, so don't be abusive.
2. Call and fax all offices multiple times. Be sure the entire staff knows how you feel about your chosen topic. If you do not have a fax machine, use www. freefax.com or www.faxzero.com. Both sites will allow you to send free faxes.
3. Most senators only take e-mail from their official websites and only from their constituents. Always send your reps e-mails (cut and paste your fax is easiest), and fax the rest.
